yea yea lorettas.as long as you are willing to mortgage your house to chase the dream,or you are filthy rich, you cannot! partake in the road to lorettas.the am. racing has gotten to professional to young. for the life of me i dont understand where these people get or justify spending the kind of money (100s of thousands of $, multiple bikes, parts, travel, motorhomes etc. that gets spent on racing these days!
Its a drug and they can't get enough. If you are going to be addicted to something, at least your are spending quality time with your family. Not everybody spends $100,000's on it. I raced at a pro level in the 80's and have been beaten by the best riders in the world and has a great time doing it. I have taken my family to Loretta's twice in the last 5 years. Once with my son in the C class in 05 and my daughter in the Womans class in 10. We had a great time both times and spent about 2 grand both times. My wife loved it and we ended up going down the river about 15-20 times during the week. Hopefully our youngest will qualify in a few years and we can go again. None of my kids are doing this for a career, but we have had a great time and we spent a lot of time together and still do.
hold on i call bs. the money spent on the whole process.racing every weekend going to area®ional; qualies.and with due respect iam not talking about c class racing.i am talking competing for wins in the a&b classes.i know some kids who do it. bikes, parts, travel, mechanics, trainers ,well into the 100s of thousands. i to am a former local pro racer as well as some vet ex championships. my kid and i still ride but if i,we race it is to win at the highest levels.its way to expensive!
