PrintThere is less then 24 hours before the ESPY's and as I'm sure most all of you know, Ryan Villopoto is nominated for "Best Male Action Sports Athlete." He is up against probably three of the most household names in the action sports industry, so it is already an uphill battle.

@ Motodog1977: Your an IDIOT. RV is nominated cause he dominated everyone and everything last year. Give the man credit, he worked his ass off and waxed the field time and time again. I'm sorry your precious RD5 didn't get nominated, getting handed another championship is his prize for his efforts. RD is a great rider and asset to the sport, but he his NO RV. Just wait, when RV is back Dungey will again fall in line behind him again.
RD5's 2 mechanicals gave RV both titles last year...argue all you want but give Dungey those points back and he would have won back to back supercross AND motocross titles. Travis Rice for the espy!
You can say all you want about RV's titles or RD's title. But the fact is they earned them nonetheless. On paper yeah, RD would have 4 titles and going for his fifth, but we don't race on paper.

Really? From what I saw, RV was coming off a pretty big injury. He came into 2011 and proved his worth. Winning everything but a damn gold medal in the x-games. Made the 2012 supercross season his season, injuries or not he had the wins and results before that. I think he is a very worthy nominee. Did he win? I didn't see them give out the award..
Oh, this is coming from someone that's not even a Villopoto fan, but I give credit where credit is do. And this man deserves this nominee.
Chilllmatic is right on the money with his comment. Can't understand not being an RV fan, though, what's not to like? As a fan of the Mn boys, A-Mart and now Jeremy at Southwick, Dungey, is my man on the big bikes, but when RV wins, that's just fine with me cuz he earns it.
