Your Collection: 1984 CR60

Sunday, April 1, 2012 | 5:35 PM

This weeks collection comes to us from Kyle Wade.

I put a lot of time into restoring these older bikes and its cool knowing people appreciate them as much as I do. I was working on another project at the time when i submited my stanton bike to you and now its finished.  A 1984 cr60.  i restored this thing from the ground up. This is a RARE one, hope you like it.

this project took me about 2 months. the bike itself was in running conditition and alot of the plastic was restorable. it was nearly impossible to find a rear fender but i found one for a cr80 on ebay and made it fit. the wheels are pro-wheel and i got those off ebay also. i stripped it down to the frame and re painted everything. everything was tight in the lower end and the top end looked awesome so i left it alone. just took alot of elbow grease:)

Also the seat cover is a reproduction from an ebay based company and the vintage Alumalite handlebars and the blue JT grips I bought brand new from a guy my dad knows who used to sell parts out of his trailer at races during the 80's.

Bought one of these a couple months ago out of some guys pick up for $20. It's a far cry from this one but has potential.I need a rod kit for it ,anybody know where to find one?

GaaaaaaAAAAH! That thing is supremely cool! I would put it in my living room next to my piano and use it as a chair - and I am not kidding! Total eye candy, completely jewelry quality. Right now, I am 38 years younger and ripping a major wheelie on it in my head!
