Pro Circuit Pushes Through Toronto
CORONA, Calif., - Over 47,000 fans packed into the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, on Saturday for an exciting night of Monster Energy Supercross. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki duo of Darryn Durham and Blake Baggett each had a frustrating night in the Supercross Lites East division, while teammate Broc Tickle stayed consistent and earned his third top-10 finish in three weeks in the Supercross Class.
Both Durham and Baggett rocketed out of the gate in their respective Supercross Lites heat races. Durham dominated his heat by first grabbing the holeshot and then taking the win. Baggett also looked strong, finishing third. Both riders were feeling confident as they prepared for the Supercross Lites Main Event.
Durham positioned himself in third after the start of main event, while Baggett trailed a few spots behind. Durham was looking fast and kept the pressure on as he hunted down the competition. He was in the midst of battle for the podium when he went down in a corner, but remounted and put on a charge to salvage valuable points. Darryn finished fifth, and now sits third overall in the Supercross Lites East Region standings.
Baggett had a mid-pack start in the main event, and was starting to move through the field when he collided with a rider who had crashed only moments before. The incident set Baggett back a few positions, and he ended the night with a 15th-place finish. Blake is now sixth overall in the Supercross Lites East Region standings.
Tickle is starting to find his stride in the Supercross Class, and earned his third top-10 finish in three weeks. Broc is staying consistent and plugging away at each round, and plans on improving even more in the rounds to come. With five races remaining this season, Tickle sits 11th overall in the Supercross Class standings, with 108 points.
The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki Race Team now makes its way to Houston for the next round of Monster Energy Supercross, which will be held at Reliant Stadium this Saturday, March 31.
