holeshot!! every bike comes with #5? kinda weird...
for 10 grand it better wash my riding gear after a race too
I kinda thought he was kidding I wouldn't want a 5 on mine.
Is it better than the other 4? Is it time for the 2011 Yamaha to go?
Thast bike looks tight with only KTM making only 400 it is the closest thing to a Motocross exotic. Every dealer I called says it is sold out already who has available?
I'll stick with the ATK
they must be very confident in the starting system, no kicker, for that kind of money you think they would put one on, as a back up to the batt, or a failed starter motor.
AH you can be just like dungey pretty stupid, I'll stick with my kawi
Nice test especially when the noise stopped and i don't mean the bike....lol... Looks like a really , make that REALLY nice bike. The next 400(units) will be even better..and the next....etc etc.....KTM has never been scarred to stop the line and upgrade.....the Reed no pass force field has been abruptly and unfortunately turned off ,lets see what #5 has got for the new sheriff now. The pace upfront is brutal...good luck with that...meanwhile the championship winning Zook sits in a shed somewhere...........sad.
It looks pretty nice for being orange, but for all that is right in the world, can they please get a new front fender design?
I liked the occasional flash of green. Guess they couldn't get the track all to themselves.
Great looking bike for a pumpkin! I used to own a KTM 520 and the motor was fantastic but the damn thing would never, ever turn. This thing looks really planted and stable. No more front end dancing entering the corner (thank you linkage!).
As dumb as it may be for any real riders to buy a bike with a big #5 on it, for branding purposes KTM is doing the right thing in getting product familiarity for their brand now that Dungey has been on the podium a few times this year. For the weekend warrior heading into a bike shop, the big#5 makes the bike instantly recognizable, and that will help with bike sales. Still, I wouldn't buy one!
sweet deal there fellas! i think its awesome you also get a front fender that is a handy garden tool; im sold! haha!!
That was some fugly gear that ping was wearing.
Yeah nice bike, but this was just to get a fuel injected bike for Dungey to ride. Anyone looking to buy this should just wait for the improved 2013 model that will probably be ready later this year. Three #5's aren't worth all that money.
What is it with KTM front fenders for about the, ohhhh, last 15 years? From an aesthetics viewpoint, they always are a big pimple on the bike.
what's up with all the cost talk. New honda 8500, kaw 8500, etc. KTM for an extra grand you don't have to change your clutch, you get better rims, chain, parts in general.... plus tuning tool????
Ha ha, that is the new front fender! LOL Its a great bike! I have rode the past 450sx-f's hope I get to ride one of these! The dealership I work at has one still available!
Mayorga..... hillsboro in organ has 2012 ktm for sale ask mj telem kaz said wutup
any way KTM IS BASICALLY SETTING THE BAR FOR THE NEXT GENERATION 450
racers have to stick with what the believe in... KTM is different takes a year to get used to.
Then need to make a 350 factory now :-)
@jayg1973 - Yeah I can't really pick on KTM specifically, all color of bikes are already grossly overpriced. Our sport is in serious danger of becoming cost-prohibitive and the exclusive domain of the rich. It's already very close to that point now.
I think anybody over the age of 25 or so should be shocked by the idea of a $10,000 dirt bike. Younger people are kinda used to overpaying for everything.
You are right though, at least KTM gives you alot of the aftermarket stuff that you would probably eventually buy for your jap bike.
Kazkaz115 thanks for the info I will check them out. I dont mind getting one shipped as long as I can get one still in the crate hopefully.
Nice bike I agree with B-KR...wait for the 2013 production bikes...10G C'mon. 2008 CRf would still wax it...
Just kidding! Maybe....
