Race for Autism Goes Supercross
Carlos Vieira Racing, Inc. is sponsored by 51 FIFTY ENERGY. 51 FIFTY is an energy drink company based in Livingston, California. With their unique combination of ingredients and natural herbs, 51 FIFTY Energy Drink is definitely making its mark in the retail industry. What makes 51 FIFTY really unique is that they donate a percentage of all their energy drink sales to the Race for Autism campaign. “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to increase autism awareness and to raise money to help families living with autism. That is why we are getting into Supercross,” says Carlos Vieira, owner of 51 FIFTY Enterprises.
Team 51 FIFTY has brought Abe Johnson on board to manage their Supercross team. Coming from a background of riding bikes and managing motorcycle shops, Abe will bring diversity and experience to the team. “I worked at a Yamaha dealership for many years starting at the bottom to becoming the manager. I feel that my experience with working on bikes, with riders, and people in general will help me put our team on the right track to having a successful season." At the age of 30, Abe has had his share of winning many local race events. He continues to ride, but his main focus now is putting together a well organized team that will represent 51 FIFTY ENERGY and the Race for Autism campaign. “Everyone at 51 FIFTY is very professional, and they show so much support for all their team members; it’s like being part of a family. They put trust in each other, and I love that. I hope to add to their overall success.” Abe says he understands that this season will be challenging and that mistakes will happen, but also stated that as long as his team learns from their mistakes and builds from them, they will have a successful 2012 season and an even stronger 2013. Abe would like to thank FMF, Work Connection, ODI and Matrix for all of their great products and support. He knows with companies like these supporting his team, they will not only perform well but also look good.
One of the riders for Team 51 FIFTY Energy Drink is Chris Plouffe. Chris has been riding motorcycles since the age of 2. Born and raised in Castaic, California, he spent most of his childhood riding bikes and playing sports. He decided at the age of 12 to give motocross his full attention. Since riding with Team Green, Honda of Houston and American Honda, he has participated in the Amateur Nationals during the past 6 years. Winning 5 championships, with 3 being in 2011, he feels like he is ready to go pro. “I’m going into my first AMA Supercross season with a great sponsor, 51 FIFTY and a great motor program Powered by Naveen." Chris feels that with the equipment he has underneath him and the drive that he has, he will be able to catch at least a top 15 at each race. “My goal this season is to learn as much as possible, build my confidence, and give 100 percent during every race. I love that I am doing what I enjoy and, at the same time, I’m also supporting a great cause. I believe that riding for a cause will motivate me to reach my goals and will allow me to represent the team the best that I can. I believe that Supercross will be an excellent way to promote autism awareness and to let people know about the Race for Autism campaign." With the enthusiasm that this kid has at the age of 19, we can only imagine that he will be a force to be reckoned with.
The second rider that will be sponsored by 51 FIFTY Energy Drink is 21 year old Preston Tilford. Born in Clarksville, Tennessee, he has been riding since the age of 12. Adopted when he was a baby, he has not let that stop him from living his dream. His first years of riding were with his adoptive father riding alongside him through the fields after church. “My parents have always supported what I do. During the hard times and the good, they have stood behind me 100 percent." I remember riding without any boots, just shoes because we had very little money.” Preston started competing in motocross in 2003 and competing in the Amateur Nationals in 2005. Winning numerous races, winning an Amateur Title and finishing in the top 5 of all his 2011 events, he is ready to give it all he has at Anaheim 1. “I really feel highly about 51 FIFTY and all that they do. I grew up having a very good friend with autism, and my dad taught children with autism for 25 years. I’m very happy to be helping out the cause," said Preston. It has been Preston’s dream to race professionally and to have the opportunity to compete at Anaheim 1. His dream will come real soon. “I will do my best because this is what I always wanted to do." His parents are sure to be at the edge of their seats cheering him on this season.
Team 51 FIFTY has purchased new 2012 Honda CRF 250R motorcycles for both of their riders. They have partnered up and brought to their team Naveen Motorsports. Naveen will be handling their motors for the entire season. This is an exclusive deal which 51 FIFTY is proud to be a part of. Handling their suspension will be MB1 of Corona, California. With this combination and the drive that these riders have, everything points to Team 51 FIFTY presenting a successful 2012 AMA West Coast Supercross Lites Season.
51 FIFTY Energy Drink has been in the market for 6 months. Growing fast in San Joaquin’s Central Valley in California and just recently breaking into Southern California, they have plans to continue to grow throughout the entire west coast. Team 51 FIFTY is excited to add to their series of racing, the AMA Supercross. They have experienced NASCAR fans that are very supportive and loyal, and they are soon to find out that Supercross fans are the same. Their biggest hope in combining NASCAR and AMA Supercross is to increase autism awareness in hopes of getting closer to figuring out the puzzle for so many families that have been affected.
