Your Collection: New Orleans Superdome - 1980 Pics
Tuesday, December 27, 2011 | 10:20 AMThis weeks collection comes to us from Shannon Gillette in Arizona.
After seeing the Superbowl of Motocross shots and hearing they are adding the New Orleans Super-dome back on the circuit I got to thinking about these pictures I had. I took these at the 1980 New Orleans round of the SX series. I used my 110 camera I bought with my paper route $$. I was 12 or 13 years old at the time. My dad was a longtime racer and Indian Dunes local. We had moved out to Panama City, Florida in 1976 and lived there until 1982. Anyway, my dad use to race all the GNC AM. day stuff on the Sunday's after the SX events, so we went to lots of SX events from as far back as I can remember. I saw Darrell Schultz win both of his Daytona's too!!
Luckily I still had these awesome shots in the photo-mat envelope. hahahaha.. Here some of the shots I took in 1980
