Vintage Races at Lake Sugar Tree, VA
Hello guys and gals, Professor Bailey here, just sharing how excited we at Lake Sugar Tree are about the vintage race this coming weekend and making sure you know what we have planned.
First off on Friday there is this Gary Bailey guy (I hear he is known as the Professor of Motocross and that back in the day he knew how to race), well, he is doing this vintage motocross school like the school he started back in 1969. Where does the time go when you are having FUN?
Oh, that’s the next thing, FUN. After the class we are going to do some of that, starting with a little fishing contest so bring your fishing pole. Then, there is the corn hole toss. Don’t ask, just be there you will figure it out. Plus there will be a little bonfire and some gathering around.
Okay, let’s stay with this FUN thing. On Saturday night at my place (300 yards away), the wife has given me permission to have a few hundred friends over and we are going to have some MORE FUN. Where do I start? Well, there is my museum with all kinds of cool stuff I’ve been hoarding for the last forty years, lots of video, a slide show from some of your vintage races, an awards ceremony for the day’s winners and second and third place losers (I always say “second is the first loser” in case you haven’t heard) shuffleboard, food and drink and you may get a chance to tell your best racing lie, oops, I mean story. YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS ONE!
Okay, what about the racing? As you may have heard we are going to have a very vintage friendly track with a few little changes for post- vintage racing on Sunday. If you have not heard yet WE ARE GOING TO HAVE FIVE MODERN CLASSES ON SUNDAY as well so you can ride even if they don’t have any good old stuff.
Hope to see you here! We can’t control the weather, but we can control the track and what you ride on and we will. OLD STUFF RULES!
