Blose Finishes 2011 SX Season with Career Best 4th Place
The Dodge Motorsports/Hart and Huntington team capped off the 2011 Supercross season with a career best finish for team rider Chris Blose at the final round of Monster Energy Supercross in Las Vegas in front of a sold out Sam Boyd Stadium. Blose rode tremendously in the Main event to finish 4th place for the evening behind Reed, Dungey and Villopoto. Blose's 4th place marks a season high for the Dodge Motorsports / Hart and Huntington team.
"I'm blown away by Blose's performance tonight. I'm worked, tired, and just happy for these guys. It has been a long season. It was unfortunate that Ivan got banged up this season, but tonight just capped it off. This has been an awesome night and a great season," said proud team owner Carey Hart.
Placed in qualifying Heat #2, Chris struggled to find his rhythm on the fast and technical Sam Boyd track and finished in 18th position, forcing him into the do or die Last Chance Qualifier. Hoping for one of the last two transfer positions into the Main event, Blose battled furiously with KTM's Andrew Short in order to claim the critical final transfer spot. Blose's perseverance has been evident all season long being one of only eight riders to qualify for every Main event this season.
Chris started the Main event in the front half of the pack and was able to check off riders lap after lap. Soon Blose found himself riding in 5th position. A flat tire on lap 14 for Joe Gibbs Racing rider, Davi Millsaps, opened the door for Blose to claim 4th place where he would finish the night, a career best. Blose ended the season 13th overall in Championship Points while his injured Dodge Motorsports / Hart and Huntington teammate, Ivan Tedesco, finished in 11th.
"I feel really good. It really means a lot to me," said an emotional Chris Blose.
"I feel great. I'm pumped for Chris. He really needed this at the end of this season so he goes into next season with confidence. He is definitely good enough to be up where he finished on a consistent basis, he just needed to do it and tonight he did. I'm very excited for him," said Chris' mechanic Chad Geib.
The Dodge Motorsports / Hart and Huntington team will be back in action at Summer X-Games this July.
