Husaberg GNCC Race Report
St Clairsville, OH - Husaberg Factory rider Mike Lafferty earned 6th overall at the twelfth round of the GNCC Series in only his third GNCC race this season.
Lafferty earned a 5th place start off the line and remained in the lead group through the first half lap. "I was banging bars with Chris Bach for a while before he got around me and then I began to pace myself with Thad (Duvall)," commented Lafferty. "While I was running with Thad, I got cross-rutted and went down on the first lap. I got back up and was able to complete the first lap in 9th position."
Throughout the remainder of the race Lafferty remained consistent with his times and was able to capitalize on other riders mistakes. "This course was rough. It was hard-packed with a ton of braking bumps and holes and it caused a lot of riders to crash – myself included. At the end of the day, I had some big blisters and was definitely tired but I hung on and put in a good finish."
Lafferty moved up to 6th on the final lap and finished just one spot shy of the top five aboard his Husaberg FX450. Lafferty intends to race the final GNCC round in Crawfordsville, IN.
