Kevin Strijbos Injured
Amsterdam - Beursfoon Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos suffered a shoulder injury during a training session at Rilland last Saturday. The Belgian suffered a high-sider in a sharp corner and crashed heavily on his shoulder. At first everything looked to be in order, but when he tried to pick up his bike, it was clear that there was something amiss. The pain only increased in intensity, and after an obligatory visit to the hospital, a crack in his shoulder blade was discovered. Because of this injury Kevin will be out for several weeks now!
Because of the fact that Kevin will be out for several weeks the Spaniard Jose Butron will move up to the MX1 class. Jose rode a race in Eernegem, Belgium last Sunday. This was a good preparation for him for the Grand Prix at Lierop because this is a heavy sand track. Jose finished in third position in both motos and these results gave him second overall.
Together with Marc de Reuver he will try to score as many points as possible at round five of the Dutch Open Championship Series MX1 at Emmercompascuum next weekend.
