"This is my 1976 honda CR250. I use it for bike shows only. In fact, I have never rode it--it's too pretty to ride! However, I have a CR125 and a CR250 that I do race. If you look at the rear knobby you can see that it is the original one from Honda that was very different from others because the knobs are spaced far apart then close, etc. The reasoning behind that was for riding on hard pack and muddy conditions. It's one of a kind!

Nice bike, to bad it was probably the worst 250 you buy in 76' by 78' honda started going in the right direction.

“rulingtheroost” is right. Honda really was resting on its laurels for their 75 thru 77 production motocrosser. Then they got on the stick in 78 with the 250. It took another year for the 125 to be MX worthy. As far as “too pretty to ride”, well I know hundreds of guys & gals that have bikes “too pretty to ride” and they race the hell out of them all the time in vintage and post-vintage moto-cross. The bikes get dirty, scratched up, broken, & bent. But amazingly the bikes show up at the next vintage or PV race and they are once again they are “too pretty to ride”.
