CORONA, Calif – Monster Energy announced today that it is back on board as the title sponsor of the second annual Monster/Powder Mountain Motocross, again featuring the King of Supercross himself - Monster’s own Jeremy "Showtime" McGrath - racing on the track he designed the weekend of Aug. 19-22.
Last year’s inaugural Monster/Powder Mt. MX drew an astounding thousand entries and 15,000 fans – many of whom got in free with an empty can of Monster Energy – which made this the largest outdoor motocross event in the history of the great State of Utah. Sculpted into the 8,000-foot elevation Powder Mt. ski runs, the amazing vistas and pure air of Utah’s north country make for a highly memorable MX experience.
"The Powder Mountain race was awesome last year," said pro racer David Pingree. "That event has more potential than any place I've been in a long time and hopefully I can get back and be a part of it again. I love getting up to the mountains and being somewhere a little off the beaten path. At Powder Mountain I actually get to race at a location like that … it's a special event."

Back for 2010 is the Monster Energy Recycle Program – Entry into the VIP seating area with a Monster can. Last year’s promotion generated huge sales of Monster product. Regional manager Adam Baalaer reported Monster retailers had their highest numbers of Monster sales over the event days. Close to 8000 cans were recycled over the weekend!
Beginning with an optional early practice on Aug. 14th and 15th, the Monster Powder Mt. MX will span four days from Aug. 19th through the 22nd – the ‘official’ practice running on the 19th. McGrath will again be the featured Monster athlete and available all weekend for autograph sessions, a track walk and interviews. Race registration and camping reservations can be made online. It’s only $50 per class to race on this amazing track over the ski slopes at Powder Mountain, featuring full range of amateur classes – from Novice to Veteran – Pro and Women’s classes.
Added McGrath: "I can’t wait to get back to the Monster/Powder Mountain MX. It was one of the most fun weekends I had all year on my motorcycle. Great track, great fun and a nice crowd … loved it!"
