Bobby Bond’s Hangtown Race Report

Sacramento, CA - Bobby Bonds debut his Yamaha for the ’09 Outdoor season this past weekend at the Hangtown Classic. After a race he’d like to forget at the opener two weeks ago at Glen Helen, this weekend was a little more on tract for the Valli Motorsports rider. So here’s the low down, as it is Bobby has elected to ride the new ’09 Yamaha 450F for the outdoor nationals on the Valli Motorsport MX team. As far as WORCS, team personnel will be deciding this week on which color we will see “Bondo” at for Washington. It sounds confusing, but the Valli team has it all laid out and an announcement will come soon.
“ Jason called me last week and I told him a 33 & a DNF did not deserve a report from Rnd #1, so this week I come with better spirits. As anyone knows qualifying for an outdoor national is a feat within itself, but actually sporting a 13-19 finish on the day after just 20 minutes on a new bike is good in my book. I picked up the Yamaha late last week, rode practice at Hangtown and went to the line on my Valli/Yamaha 450F. Moto 1 went well as I rode consistent, posting a 13th for my first effort. In moto 2, I felt really good being in 14th a one point. After a spill and coming from last pace, I was able to sacrifice a 19th for the final. The bike is good and with a few more test sessions, I should be good to go. I leave for Texas Thursday, which I am excited to get Valli back up in the mix and leave Wortham with a solid finish.”
* Bobby will travel to Texas this weekend for Rnd #3 of the 2009 Lucas Oil Motocross Nationals.
