STILLWATER, USA – In a first for the audio brand, KICKER has been named the title sponsor for the 2008
Southwick Motocross National, which will run August 23-24 in
Southwick, Massachusetts. In effect, the event name becomes “The 2008 KICKER
Southwick Moto-X 338 Motocross National, presented by Scott USA.”
According to track manager Ralph Pittello, operations manager Diane Peebles-Pittello was excited to have such a high-performance company like KICKER, which has shown so much support for the sport of motocross, as a title sponsor.
Though KICKER has been involved in AMA events for many years, specifically the Motocross Championship and Supercross, this will be its first venture as a title sponsor.
In addition to the 11th round of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship presented by FMF, this year’s event will also feature the Women’s Motocross National and a free concert performance.
Celebrating its 32nd consecutive year of playing host to a Moto Championship event,
Southwick actually held its first races in 1972. Last year KICKER-sponsored rider
Ricky Carmichael capped off his storied career with a
Southwick victory, his eighth win in eight Motocross division races there. KICKER rider
Ryan Villopoto finished second to Ben Townley in the Motocross Lites division.
