Check Out Elrod's Fasthouse at A2
Take a Look Back at Supercross History with Toyota Trucks Presents Elrod’s Fasthouse and LiveNation’s Anaheim 2 Throwback Night Autograph Session
Torrance, Calif. – (January 28, 2008) – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. is offering fans an all-new race experience with Toyota Trucks Presents Elrod’s Fasthouse at every stop of the 2008 Monster Energy® AMA Supercross Series. The Fasthouse gives race fans the ability to look back at the history and evolution of Supercross and Toyota’s place as the Original Official Truck of Supercross. The dynamic new Toyota Zone looks at how the sport began with authentic memorabilia from the past.
To add to the history, LiveNation is hosting more than 35 renowned former riders for Throwback Night at Anaheim 2 including a special autograph session next to the Fasthouse. Race fans will have the opportunity to get up-close and personal with their favorite riders from the past to get autographs and take photos.
Elrod’s Fasthouse in the Toyota Zone offers memorabilia of all types – old photographs, gear, helmets and even a Toyota SR5 Truck, the original official truck of Supercross. Toyota invites everyone to stop by the Fasthouse to take a look at how the sport has evolved and see how much racing has changed since its launch in 1972.
“As Supercross continues to grow as a sport, Toyota is proud to offer fans and riders a look back at it’s evolution as well as Toyota’s heritage within the sport,” said Keith Dahl, National Marketing Manager for Toyota. “As the original and current Official Truck of Supercross, Toyota has worked over the years to build trucks that meet the needs of the riders and the fans which is evident in the current generation Toyota Tundra.”
Once you’ve taken a look back, the Fasthouse provides something for those looking for a little pre-race action. The Tacoma Fast Foot Challenge measures foot speed when it comes to reaction time and rapid acceleration. The fan with the best time at the end of the day receives a Toyota prize pack. Not to be left in the dust, the Toyota Trucks Mini-Bike Races give fans the opportunity to pedal past their competition and win prizes every hour. Another new addition this year is the bandana airbrushing station where everyone is welcome to stop by and have a bandana or article of clothing airbrushed with custom logos from the early days of the sport.
Toyota will also be offering the Tundra Back-up Camera Challenge at select races. Participants have the opportunity to test their skills as they navigate a 2008 Toyota Tundra fully equipped with a back-up camera in an attempt to line it up with a trailer hitch. Successful participants receive a set of Toyota Trucks branded tie-down straps.
The Toyota Trucks cheer cards are back as well even for fans that don’t make it into the pits. Stop by the Fasthouse or either one of the two additional Toyota cheer card stations and design your custom card for your favorite racer or team. Last but not least, don’t forget to enter in the Toyotacross Prize Pack Give-Away after making a cheer card. One winner will be selected and announced during the intermission and receive a $250 gas card, JGR jersey, Ogio backpack, Toyota gear and more.
