ASV Inventions Acquires Universal Engineering
New Product Categories and Engineering Team Complement ASV’s Specialty Inventions
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (November 26, 2007) – ASV Inventions, Inc., creators of various motorcycle-related inventions including the ASV Unbreakable lever, today announced that it acquired Universal Engineering, a Portland, Oregon- and Temecula, California-based producer of handlebars, stands, bed racks and accessories. Universal’s product sourcing and engineering team will strengthen ASV’s in house product development program. The deal will also give ASV’s existing 1700+ USA dealers the opportunity to carry the Universal product line.
"Universal is a solid brand with a lot of potential," said Bob Morales, ASV’s founder and president. "This acquisition will enable ASV to expand its product offerings with an established brand that has a great reputation for quality and style."
Universal is best known for its innovative and stylish Monocoque motorcycle stand that has appeared on countless magazine covers, posters and ads. The stand is used by many racing teams including factory KTM. In addition to its success in motocross, Universal products have become popular with freestyle motocross riders including freestyle legend Mike Deegan.
Universal employees and assets will relocate to ASV in Huntington Beach, Calif. where ASV will market both brands separately with shared sales, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution. For a complete list of current job openings at ASV, visit: http://www.asvinventions.com/Employment
