WMG FMX Athletes were the Big Winners at the 2007 X Games
Los Angeles – August 7, 2007 – Adam Jones and Nate Adams were the big winners in the freestyle motocross categories at the 2007 X Games with a combined 3 medals between the two of them.
Freestyle motocross kicked off the X Games on Thursday with the highly anticipated FMX Best Trick competition. After last year’s memorable performance by fellow WMG Athlete Travis Pastrana and his famed double backflip, the Best Trick competition has become the defacto stage to unveil your biggest trick of the year. This year was no exception as Adam Jones led the way with his Shao-Lin flip, a backflip variation of his own creation. After only being let in the Best Trick competition after another competitor dropped out, Adam’s trick was arguably the most technical trick of the night; however it was only greeted with a Silver Medal. Nevertheless, Jones wasn’t done there, capitalizing on Thursday night’s Silver Medal performance, Jones was able to up his game in Saturday’s Freestyle competition and ended up taking home the Gold Medal. Jones just beat out fellow WMG athlete and Silver Medalist Nate Adams who was riding with a broken finger suffered the week before at Red Bull’s X Fighters competition. Nate was the pre-event favorite however Adam rode flawlessly en route to taking home the top spot. Both Adam and Nate will ride next on August 19 for stop number three of the AST Dew Tour.
