There will also be a Number One plate awarded to the top Expert rider in the series who will be crowned the National EnduroCross Champion.
The three race series starts in Denver on Saturday, September 29. Round two is in Oklahoma on Saturday, October 6th. The Las Vegas weekend will operate very similarly to the 2006 event - there will be a Qualifier Round on Friday, November 16 with the Championship final round taking place the following night, Saturday, November 17. Scoring for each race will be similar to that of an AMA supercross with points earned based upon the riders finishing position. The Las Vegas round will serve as a Double Points event. In addition, there is $40,000 purse that will be paid out over the three events.
"EnduroCross is not only one of the newest forms of motorcycle racing, but is also one of the most exciting," commented Chuck Weir, AMA National Off-Road Race Manager. "Anytime you put the top off-road riders in the world inside an arena in front of thousands of fans, you can expect to see great racing action. We plan to recognize all the EnduroCross class champions at our annual AMA Sports banquet and provide them with a number one plate."
For those interested in racing the series, entry forms are available on line at www.endurocross.com. Classes are limited, so we encourage you to sign up early. Tickets for all three events are also available online.
The 2006 Las Vegas EnduroCross was a complete sell out one month prior to the event, so for those planning to attend the race and/or the AMA Banquets we urge you to purchase your tickets and make your hotel reservations now!
