Star Racing takes two top fives in Atlanta
The second round of the AMA supercross Lites east series took place in Atlanta, Georgia last Saturday and the Star Racing/Lucas Oil/Yamaha team had a groundbreaking night

The main event started great, Martin and Matt both netted top five starts with Bryan almost last since he had a lousy gate pick. However, Davalos and Goerke settled in with the leaders avoiding some carnage. When two riders went down it put the to rookies into second and third leaving the entire industry and fans searching for who was #577, #53. As the laps ticked by both kids held there own running lap times matching the leader. On lap twelve, Matt Goerke succumbed to the pressure of two of the classes’ championship contenders relegating him to fifth where he would finish out. In the meantime, Martin Davalos was still racing all alone and beyond nervous. With a half of a lap to go, his good buddy and training partner Davi Milsaps passed him over the triple jump, but saluted Martin with a wave. Marty Mix would go on and finish third in his second supercross. Bryan Johnson came across the line in 14th when it was all done.
All of the riders and the team are ecstatic, however we all know it was just one race and are going to strive for similar results. The race will be televised on Speed Channel, next Saturday, March 4th at 6pm eastern. Be sure to catch it!
