Not only do I see more new riders at our local OHV areas these days, but adults are also getting back into the pit bike/ backyard theme. Established in 2002, SSR Motorsports originally imported and distributed powersports products and were mostly known for their mini- bikes, which became their focus. (As the business grew, they added ATVs and UTVs to their off-road selection as well.) Luckily for my son and I, we have a big desert in our backyard to ride SSR’s SR125 and SR170 TRs. We made a makeshift turn track for some good old-fashioned father-son competition, and we had a blast. The SR125/170 TRs have four-speed manual transmissions, are Mikuni carbureted, have disc brakes, are double-bar steel framed, and come with a 30-day warranty on all parts.
