Reason For Being
Back in late August, not long after the conclusion of the 40th Annual AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, a massive storm came through middle Tennessee. Heavy rainfall caused flash flooding throughout the region, though the town of Waverly, which is just a few miles up Route 13 from the Ranch, took the brunt of the damage.
Twenty people lost their lives, including longtime ranch foreman Wayne Spears, a familiar face to visiting motocross families. Many more lost everything they had, including their homes and businesses.
