Jalek Swoll (Concussion) Out for SMX Playoff 2
After Jalek Swoll suffered a concussion last weekend in North Carolina, Triumph Racing has confirmed Swoll will miss round two of the SMX Playoffs. Swoll crashed hard off the start of the first moto, which caused an immediate red flag due to the starting straight being an active part of the track. Swoll was motionless for a minute or so before being helped to his feet and onto the Alpinestars medical cart. His day was over as he did not start the second moto. He posted to Instagram Sunday “just took a quick nap on Saturday I’ll be okay” and was entering into concussion protocol. The #33 was aiming to race tomorrow’s SMX Playoff 2 in Texas, however, the team confirmed with us this afternoon Swoll will not be racing this weekend.
Swoll entered the SMX Playoffs eighth in combined 250cc AMA Supercross and Motocross points but leaves the first round with zero points added and now sits 17th.

US RACING SUPERMOTOCROSS 250: Jalek Swoll OUT OF SECOND SUPERMOTOCROSS WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFF
- Jalek Swoll withdraws from second SuperMotocross World Championship playoff.
- #33 continues to recover from the incident in Charlotte. Additional updates to follow.
Triumph Racing's Jalek Swoll will sit out the second SuperMotocross World Championship playoff at Texas Motor Speedway following his crash at the previous playoff in North Carolina. Swoll suffered a concussion in the incident and will focus on returning to full fitness.
Swoll was seeded into the SuperMotocross World Championship playoffs in eighth after delivering impressive performances in the Monster Energy Supercross and AMA Pro Motocross. A podium at the historic track of Unadilla was a highlight of Swoll’s first term riding the TF 250-X at the pinnacle of off-road sport.
The SuperMotocross World Championship will conclude at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on September 21. Triumph Racing will continue to monitor Swoll's condition and provide updates in due course.
Steve Westfall – Triumph Racing USA Team Manager:
"It is unfortunate that Jalek had a crash off the start at the first SuperMotocross World Championship playoff and suffered a concussion. To be on the safe side, he will sit out this weekend and recover. We will reevaluate next week and determine if he is 100% prepared to race in Las Vegas.”
