  • [Update] Kawasaki Race of Champions Postponed

[UPDATE]

The Kawasaki Race of Champions that was scheduled for this weekend at the Old Bridge Township's Raceway Park has been postponed due to weather, according to a post on the track's website. The event has been rescheduled for October 30-November 1, 2015.

After continually monitoring weather forecasts for this coming weekend, we are doing a first and postponing the 39th Annual Kawasaki Race of Champions until October 30–November 1, 2015. I reviewed many schedules and attempted to take other promoters events into consideration in making this decision. This is for the safety of racers traveling a far distance through extreme weather and to provide the best racing and KROC experience for all. This maybe more popular for some and not for others, and I get it—I raced when races weren't cancelled—but with all forecasts predictions I feel as though common sense must rule. Thank you for understanding. Please share and spread the word. See you at KROC 2015 October 30-November 1, 2015!

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. – The motocross track at Old Bridge Township’s Raceway Park will once again host the Kawasaki Race of Champions this weekend. This year the facility celebrates the thirty-ninth annual edition with racing action taking place on both Saturday and Sunday.

Originally sponsored by the local Forsgate Country Club, motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki became a sponsor a couple of years later and has remained true for the last thirty-plus years. The Kawasaki Race of Champions, known in the industry as KROC has been the sight of many great battles and exciting action, and the 2015 event will be no exception. Many of the greatest riders in the sport of motocross, including the likes of Ricky Carmichael, Jeff Emig, James Stewart, and Ryan Villopoto, have turned laps at KROC.

The 2015 event begins on Friday, October 2, and continues through Sunday afternoon with a complete schedule of motocross racing action.

"We’re looking forward to a tremendous weekend of racing," said Raceway Park motocross track manager Rich Trevelise. "I've been here for all of the KROCs since the beginning, and the level of competition and track conditions this year will be among the best I've ever seen.

"Our staff has been working hard to make not only the racing portion of the weekend a success, but the overall atmosphere as well. A whip and wheelie contest on Friday, live music Saturday, and Monster Energy Kawasaki racer Wil Hahn will be here on Sunday meeting the fans. All of these things add to the fun, not to mention all of the great vendors and sponsors signed up to help with the event. Our great local dealer sponsors—Mt. Holly Kawasaki, Pompton Sports Center, Town & Country Cycle Center, and Toms River Kawasaki—have combined to give away four brand new Kawasaki motorcycles as part of Sunday’s special events. Two thousand fifteen will certainly go down as one of the best ever KROC events."
