Strikt Slaton Yamaha Signs Politelli
Press Release
The Slaton Racing supercross team is proud to announce some exciting new changes for the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season. New title sponsor, Strikt Gear Company from Golden, BC (www.striktgear.com) has joined our efforts to chase the number one plate in the 250SX West Region, with Canadian MX2 Champion Austin Politelli and Preston Mull piloting the all new highly anticipated Yamaha YZ250F. Also joining forces this year in a big way will be Braap Shop Yamaha (BSY) of Modesto, California.
The new name for this satellite supercross team will be Strikt Slaton Yamaha. Acting as team manager for his fourth consecutive year will be former three-time AMA motocross champion Marty Smith. According to Smith, they still have one spot they could fill with the right rider. Piloting the semi with a bold new design for 2014 will be team owner Bruce Slaton, along with co-owner John Slaton. Billy Urban will be back as general manager, keeping everything on track.
Marty Smith commented, "It’s funny how things come full circle, 39 years ago I was lining up on starting line on his factory Honda next to Bob Hannah who’s mechanic was none other than the man who put the deal together with Factory Yamaha, Keith Mcarty."
Marty Smith encourages supercross fans to come by and check out this new Yamaha backed team for 2014 during the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross West Region.
