Tommy Searle Update

Murrieta, CA – FMF/KTM rider Tommy Searle stopped by the KTM Headquarters today to give an update on his status after sitting out the Thunder Valley Motocross National last weekend from a nagging shoulder injury.
"I basically started the season feeling really strong and came out the first moto at Hangtown running up front inside the top three," stated Searle. "My fitness was great and I was comfortable on the bike. During the second moto I crashed and reinjured my shoulder. It didn’t feel as bad as before so I tried to race the next round with no practice in between. I raced very cautious because I was afraid of injuring my shoulder worse or my hand slipping from the bars and losing control of the bike."
"Everything came to a halt at Budds Creek. I took a line in between to riders to try and make a pass and one of the riders handlebars lodged into by shoulder. It basically messed up everything that had previously healed in my shoulder."
The team decided to send Searle in for a reevaluation after the Budds Creek race where it was determined that he should sit out the appropriate amount of time needed to heal his shoulder and come back fighting for a top three position. Since that decision Searle has regularly attended physical therapy sessions to help with his shoulder and is working with his trainer Charles Dao. "I plan to return at the Millville race. I feel I will be nearly healed at the time and will be able to have had some time on the bike and can show how much speed I still have."
