  • Freestylers Support Autism Speaks
(April 21, 2010; Palmer, IA) Four of the nation’s top freestyle motocross riders have announced their support of Team ERAAAP for the Iowa Walk Now for Autism Speaks. Team ERAAAP, short for Elijah Riesenberg Autism Awareness & Action Project, is hoping to recruit over fifteen walkers and raise over $5,000 to contribute directly to Autism awareness and research at the Iowa Walk Now for Autism Speaks at Valley Stadium in West Des Moines on June 19th.

Beginning now through May 3rd, fans can go online to ebay.com and enter the corresponding item number to bid on great merchandise from the following professional freestyle motocross riders:

*Autographed jersey from Matt Buyten. Matt is a two-time X Games gold medalist in Step-Up and is coming off the recent Nuclear Cowboyz tour. Item #160427097265

*Autographed jersey from Adam Jones. Adam is a multi-time X Games medalist in freestyle, including a gold medal in 2007. Adam also was Dew Tour champion in 2008. Item #160427096079

*Autographed jersey from Mike Mason. Mike is a multi-time X Games medalist as well as winner of the Orlando stop of the Dew Tour in 2007. Item #160427095147

*Autographed jersey from Dustin Miller. Dustin has medals from X Games, Gravity Games and more. Considered one of the more innovative riders on tour, Dustin has numerous video credits and free riding accolades to his name.  Item #160427097996

“When I got the news from my friends the Riesenbergs that they were starting a Walk Now for Autism Speaks team in support of their oldest son, Elijah, who was recently diagnosed with Autism, I knew I had to help. Given the close knit nature of our sport, it only took a few calls and I had great support from fellow riders to contribute to this cause,” commented Matt Buyten, who gathered support from the riders to contribute.

“I look forward to furthering the cause of Autism Speaks and seeing the progress firsthand with Elijah. I know that his diagnosis won’t hold him back from the heights he will fly in the future, and I look forward to seeing him share the course with the great riders that are supporting our cause,” said Jeremy Riesenberg, father of Elijah. “My wife and I started ERAAAP as soon as we received Elijah’s diagnosis. As Autism Speaks says, ‘Everyone wants to be heard’, and we are committed to the cause and hope to make a difference not only with our son Elijah, but in conjunction with the millions of parents worldwide affected by Autism. Together, we really can make a difference and ensure every child, parent, family member, and caregiver has the opportunity to be heard. It all starts June 19th at the Iowa Walk Now for Autism Speaks.”
