BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki: Phoenix

Phoenix, AZ- The BTOSports.com/BBMX/Palmetto Suzuki supercross team rolled into Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona with 450 rider (and wunderkind of the German supercross series) Jason Thomas back and ready to go. He, along with 250 riders Bobby Kiniry and Ben Evans, were all looking to put in a good showing for the team.
Thomas showed that he wasn’t just eating sausages and being lazy while in Germany when he went out in the heat and placed ninth and earning the last transfer spot to the main event. Once there, JT$ once again got his usual crappy start and rounded the first lap in nineteenth. The veteran put his head down and pushed hard the whole race to end up fourteenth at the end.
“It was a good showing for JT considering it really was his first race of the year and everyone already went through their first race jitters” said team manager Forrest Butler.
In the 250 class, team riders Kiniry and Evans once again put it into the main event via the heat race but both once again suffered terrible starts as they came around in fifteenth (Kiniry) and eighteenth (Evans.)
Both guys had their work cut out for them and Kiniry eventually battled hard to make it all the way into the top ten with a finish of ninth. Evans had some bad luck and could only manage a seventeenth.
After two rounds of supercross, Kiniry is in ninth position and only a handful of points out of sixth. Evans is nineteenth but we know better things lay ahead for last season’s privateer hero.
