Andrew Short Races to Top Five in Phoenix

Team Honda Red Bull Racing’s Andrew Short made the most of a bad situation this past weekend at the AMA supercross round in Phoenix on his way to a fifth place finish in the 450 Supercross class. A nasty crash in the second practice session left the #29 on the ground with the wind knocked out of him and forced him to sit the rest of the session out.
“I just made a mistake in that tabletop to tabletop section and got bucked off my bike” said Shorty after the race “Thanks to a couple of pain killers, I was ready to go for the next practice.”
In the main event, Short came around the turn just inside the top ten and a few clever moves later, he was sixth after the first lap. From there he put his head down, fought through the pain, and ended up fifth on the night.
“I was catching Ivan (Tedesco) for fourth at one point but I made a couple of mistakes and settled in for the rest of the race. Considering the crash I had, I think it was a decent race” Andrew said after the race.
So it’s onto Anaheim 2 this weekend and another shot for Andrew, who sits fifth in the points, to capture his first win in the 450 class.
