Tennessee Indoor MX Championship this Weekend

This weekend (Jan 22-23) the 17th annual FMF INDOOR MX WINTER SERIES goes to the Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville, Tenn for the TENNESSEE INDOOR MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP. It will be back to back racing action with a full event Friday then again Saturday. The Calsonic Arena is a larger arena (the biggest that we go to) which also features INDOOR PITS. The spectators are an enthusiast group there which shows their appreciation to the riders who put in a good performance.
Robbie Horton had a memorable weekend at the last round in Kentucky and hopes that he has left all his troubles behind. He broke his sub-frame in qualifying and used some questionable measures to hold his bike together for the main. Duct tape, tie wire, and a tie down held the whole back end on his bike. Despite all the problems he still won the 250 PRO class but stalled his motor in the 450 class. Chris Osborne stepped up to the plate and put in a great ride for the win. With the pro purse being over $8,000.00, a full lineup of worthy challengers are looking for every opportunity to claim a share of it. Osborne is the defending champion at Clasonic Arena in the 250 pro class and Horton is the defending champion in the 450 class.
Amateur rider turnout is always good at the Calsonic Arena and the Victory Sports staff make sure to build an exciting track that is fun for them to ride. The 50cc Pee Wees are always out in full force for the indoor races and the spectators get as excited about the young children as they do the pros. With some as young as 4 years old, at times its a real challenge for them to get over the jumps. Morristown, Tenn's Bryson Tweed is leading the points in the 50cc 4-6yrs class over Maxwell Bailey.
