  • DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing St. Louis Report

ST. LOUIS, MO – With realistic expectations, Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing headed to the city of St. Louis and home of the gateway arch for last Saturday’s AMA Supercross at the Edward Jones Dome. Team rider Teddy Parks continues to impress and came away with a 14th place finish in the 250cc Lites Main. Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing is becoming a regular fixture in the pits and the main events during the East Region portion of the AMA Supercross tour.

Both Augie Lieber of Loxahatchee, Florida and Parks of Princeton, Texas qualified in the top 25 during the Lites afternoon practice. In the first heat race of the evening, Parks set out to do what he has done during four of the five previous rounds where he qualified directly from the heat race on his Suzuki RM-Z250. Once again he raced to a steady and smart heat in St. Louis to finish ninth, transferring directly to the main. Meanwhile, Lieber on his Kawasaki KX250F was in a transfer spot during heat two in the early going, running as high as seventh. As the laps waned down, he crashed and had to settle for 17th place.

In the LCQ, Lieber came out swinging. He was in the running with the lead pack but unfortunately at the end finished fourth, two spots shy of transferring to the main.

In the Lites main, Parks was focused on gaining more experience during his first year and riding a strong race in his DNA Energy Drink and Fly Racing colors. He was able to ride close to a top ten position. Parks ended up 14th in the 15-lap main event, which is his best-ever AMA Supercross finish. He is currently in 22nd place in the class standings.

“I am so proud of these guys,” said Tim Shea, team manager. “They give it all their heart on the track and unfortunately bad luck continues to find Augie. I know he will get there. He’s been so close. Teddy continues to be impressive and ride smart for a rookie. I should thank Teddy’s family and the rest of the crew for helping everyone travel to the St. Louis round. We’re excited to see what happens at the final two East Region rounds in Toronto and Jacksonville.”

The next stop for Team DNA Energy Drink/Shea Racing will be the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on Saturday, March 28 for round seven of the AMA Supercross East Region Lites series.
