  • Joel Robert on The Motocross Files Sunday

Re-Air of Johnny O'Mara at 4:00pm (EST) precedes Robert Premiere at 4:30pm (EST)

FULLERTON, CA – Perhaps the most gifted motocross rider ever, Joël Robert's story is the season finale on Speed's "The Motocross Files" this Sunday at 4:30pm (Eastern Time).

After 120 interviews, 150 hours of video tape and travel through six countries, "The Motocross Files" Season Three ends with one of the greatest ever. Belgium's Joël Robert.

At age seven, Joël got his taste of motorcycles with a Gillet 125cc that his father Fernand bought. That launched a career that would earn him six 250cc World Championships on both CZ and Suzuki brands. His fun loving attitude was as great as his natural riding style that so many future champions tried to emulate. His battles on the track with Swedish rival Torsten Hallman were legendary but some of the stories off the track were things of legend. From the 1964 Belgium GP (Joël’s first win) to his first trip to America with Roger DeCoster in 1967, to that famous 1972 GP season, this story has as much of Joël’s career as it can fit in 22 and a half minutes.

Appearing also on this episode are: Torsten Hallman, Roger DeCoster, Harry Everts, Andre Malherbe, Sylvain Geboers, Stefan Everts, Thorleif Hansen, Hakan Andersson, Brad Lackey, Bob Hannah, Marty Tripes, Dick Mann, Barry Higgins, Bill Silverthorn, Dave Ekins, Dave Arnold, Eddie Mulder, and Terry Pratt.

"We were fortunate to interview Joël over 2 years on three different occasions" said Todd Huffman, Producer of The Motocross Files. "He has a great memory for detail from an era gone by and is a wonderful storyteller. It was an honor to get to tell his story for the MX-Files viewers after all the champions we have done shows on mention Joël as their inspiration" Huffman added.

Johnny O'Mara Re-Air 4:00pm-Eastern (1:00pm on West Coast)

Joël Robert's Premiere 4:30pm-Eastern (1:30pm on West Coast)
