  • Bel-Rayder Darryl Atkins Sets a New Record

Atkins Wins Cemetery Circuit, Wanganui, New Zealand
30,000 crazy Kiwi spectators cheered on as New Zealander Darryl Atkins rode his Aprilia SXV 550 to victory. The Cemetery Circuit in Wanganui, New Zealand is a traditional street race that has been held annually on December 26th for the past 57 years. With the exciting riding style Darryl developed from racing in America, he put on a great show for the fans by winning both S1/S2 finals and the Supermoto feature event. On top of his 3 wins, Atkins set a new lap record for the Supermoto division with a blazing 51.436 seconds.

“It was such a fun day and I am really happy to be able to come back to NZ to race my final event as I started here and wanted to finish here. The crowd loved every bit of it and that’s what I wanted. Thanks to my crew, Heather, Chuck, Dale, Robin and Kevin, for giving me the support to win today,” commented Atkins after the day’s racing.

Carlson Wins Saturday at Bologna Motoshow in Italy
Wisconsin native Benny Carlson displayed his skill in the wet and slippery conditions at the Bologna Motoshow by winning Saturday’s final.

Carlson set fastest lap time allowing him a front row start for the final, and the factory Aprilia rider never looked back. Carlson showed he was a force to be reckoned with in the World of Supermoto by beating the world’s best Supermoto riders.

“I am super happy to win, and to do it with all the best riders feels even better. I would like to explore my options for 2009, and racing the World Supermoto Championship is a challenge I would love to take on,” said Benny Carlson.

Team Factory Aprilia Racing uses Bel-Ray lubricants exclusively in their bikes including Bel-Ray Thumper 4-Stroke Racing Motor Oil, Bel-Ray Super Clean Chain Lube and Bel-Ray Waterproof Grease among others.
