Nicole Madsen To Make Pro Debut in Texas
Taft, CA - Honolulu Hills Raceway announced today, that rider Nicole Madsen will make her Pro debut in two weeks at the WMA Cup which will be held in Wortham, Texas, January 1st. Madsen, who hails from Taft, Ca will line up for her first Pro gate aboard her Honolulu Hills Yamaha 250f.
“I’m excited, about getting to race against the fastest women in the world. I really didn’t expect it to come this quick, but I had a really good past two years in WORCS, winning both Women B & Women A classes, so it was a joint decision to go Pro for 2009. Since I’m out of points in the WMA, I decided to go do the cup for my Pro debut. My trainer Ryan Hughes has me on a really good program and he feels positive about my career and I just feel now is a good time to jump.” said 16 year old Madsen Wednesday morning. I want to thank Derek Gerecke at CCR who helped me out last year with pit set-up, my mechanic Larry Dixon who keeps my bike tuned and top notch at all times, my awesome title sponsor Honolulu Hills Raceway- Darin, Darrell & Charlie have been very supportive and I can’t thank them enough for backing my program and finally my parents, family and friends. They have sacrificed so much for me and I only hope I can repay them someday for all the support they give me.” Nicole Madsen
Nicole, who began racing at age 11, has had a very fast paced career in just 5 short years. She has matured over the past 2 years and shows great potential for this Women’s premier class. Madsen will ride WORCS Women AA/Pro and WMA Pro beginning Jan. 1st, 2009.
“I have watched Nicole over the past two years. She has shown consistent and increasing speed. I expect a learning transition year over to 2010, then look out. Miki Keller with WMA & Sean Reddish over at WORCS have really opened up the market with these Pro Women and I think this is the next big thing in racing. I have been lucky enough to work with Nicole over the past year doing a little PR and I am proud of her and wish her the best of luck in the years to come. Riders like, Fiolek, Geiger, Cruse, Patterson and more are extremely fast and I think Nicole should be right there within a couple of years if not sooner.” WORCS Racing’s Jason Reed
