  • Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing Closes Out Supermoto Season
Sonoma, CA –  Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing completed the season this past weekend at the final two rounds of the XTRM AMA Supermoto Championship at Infineon Raceway on November 15-16. Thomas Bordelon finished in 17th and 15th places in the two Lites Class races, while teammate Mike Ingle finished 13th and 10th place in the Unlimited Class main events.

Infineon Raceway and Supermoto USA’s Brock McAllister stepped in to host the series’ final two rounds in front of one of the largest crowds of the year. The athletes competed on Infineon’s kart track that included a steel ramp and a pro-level dirt section.

Team DNA Energy Drink/AxiomTV/Shea Racing riders made the trek from Houston, Texas to Sonoma, California. Bordelon was focused on riding smooth, avoiding mechanical problems, and getting more race time in supermoto during his first full season. With his two finishes, he earned 18th position in the final 250cc Lites Class standings on his Yamaha YZ250F.

Ingle was also competing in his first full season in the XTRM AMA Supermoto Championship. He improved at each round on his KTM560 to finish out the year in 11th place in the Unlimited (Open) Class which was stacked with a number of veteran riders.

Team Manager Tim Shea and the fourth team member, Johnny Lewis, did not compete. After suffering a serious leg injury practicing prior to the season, Shea was unable to start riding until late summer and decided to forgo the final two rounds in order to be in 100% condition for 2009. Lewis, who competed in the first four rounds with a number of top fives, has been focusing the last few months on his 2009 season and decided not to make the cross-country trip to California.

Shea said, “We’re happy that Thomas and Mike represented the DNA Energy Drink colors at Infineon this past weekend and posted solid results. It has been a learning season for all of us. We’re satisfied with the final results and our team presence in the pits at each round. We’d like to thank DNA Energy Drink, Fly Racing, Dubach Racing, ProTaper, and so many other sponsors that have made our season possible.”
