Young Alpinestars sponsored mx star Adam “AC” Cianciarulo was one of the picks to bring home a handful of championships at both of the Texas Amateur Nationals. Unfortunately while practicing a few days before Lake Whitney Nationals he went down breaking his collarbone. Adam was crushed. His doctor told him he was out for five weeks, which would only leave Adam a couple of days on a bike before the World Mini Nationals. Adam looked at his dad Alan and said, “I don’t care what it takes Dad, I’m racing World Mini even if I only get one day on the bike before the race.” Sure enough after 5 weeks off the bike, AC only ended up getting a few days on the bike before flying to Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Race week brought 40 mile per hour winds which is almost impossible to ride in, but that didn’t stop the 80-pound Monster Kawasaki ripper from coming out on the gas getting a couple moto wins in the 65 stock, and a moto win in the 65 modified class. AC was so excited to be riding after five weeks off he didn’t even bring up the fact that he hadn’t been on his Monster Kawasaki 65 since the Mini O’s in November of 2006…like five months ago. Even more impressive was AC’s performance in Vegas in the 85cc stock & modified race. Adam is only 10 years old, and the top five guys were all 12 years old in his class. Cianciarulo rode his heart out winning two motos in the 85cc stock, and another two motos in the 85 mod division.
Just when things were looking good to bring home some championships for his sponsors, AC & Cooper Webb bumped down the start of the 65 open class causing a bad crash. Adam was taken to the hospital, but after a bad scare the x-rays came back clean. What this young rider accomplished shows why he is one of the most elite riders in the amateur ranks. It’s crazy to think that at only ten his dedication and passion to win is so strong. Adam is now doing the Loretta Lynn Qualifiers in Florida, but would like to thank his sponsors for their support as he pursues his dreams in motocross.
