Red Bull X-Ray Results

Last week from 14th – 16th February, Red Bull X Ray brought together some of the biggest names in motocross and freestyle motocross (FMX) such as local Aussie hero Robbie Maddison and US legend Ronnie Renner, in a natural terrain style competition held in Picton, NSW.
The idea behind Red Bull X Ray is that six pro FMX and six pro motocross riders are teamed up with six junior riders (i.e. six teams of three), giving the junior riders the unique opportunity to learn new skills from the experienced athletes in both disciplines.
Following a day of ‘free riding’ in their teams, helping the junior
athletes with their all-round bike skills, a fun and relaxed competition took place with the focus being on team effort and helping riders share their skills and knowledge. Teams scored each other on overall impressions across various hits and jumps.
All of the athletes were very happy with the Red Bull X Ray course and enjoyed running it hard. The juniors also showed promising talent, indicating that motocross and FMX are dramatically growing as sport disciplines in Australia.
Local Aussie FMX legend Robbie Maddison, together with Red Bull, initiated last week’s Red Bull X Ray event which also ran successfully in 2006. In addition to allowing him to help and share his skills with young up-and-coming riders, Red Bull X Ray provided Robbie with a warm up to the first event of the 2007 Red Bull X-Fighters Series taking place on March 23rd in Mexico City.
The 2007 Red Bull X-Fighters Series is the FMX ‘world series’ event of its kind, putting the world’s best Freestyle Motocross athletes up against each other in locations around the world. Following Mexico, other confirmed events for the 2007 series are Ireland(May), Moscow(June) and Madrid(July).
Aussie Robbie Maddison will be competing in all 2007 Red Bull X-Fighters events.
