Tucker Hibbert Looks For Gold at Winter X 11

  • Tucker Hibbert Looks For Gold at Winter X 11
Goodridge, Minn. (Jan. 22, 2007) – Monster Energy/Arctic Cat’s Tucker Hibbert says this is his year to take back the gold medal at ESPN’s Winter X Games. It’s been seven years since Hibbert stood on-top of the podium and became the youngest
gold medalist in history. The then 15 year-old Semi-Pro shocked the world when he took the hole-shot and led every lap of his first Winter X Games final. Since then, he has captured four more medals; making him one of the most decorated riders of
the sport.

The past three years, the Winter X Games has been Hibbert’s only snocross event. Instead of racing the World PowerSports Snowmobile Tour with the rest of his competitors, he’s been racing the American Motorcyclist Association Supercross
Lites East Coast Series; making him the only athlete in the world to race both snowmobiles and motorcycles at a premiere level. In 2004 and 2005, he took home the silver medal with only one week of practice prior to the events. After a disappointing
first round elimination at last year’s Winter X Games, he made the decision to race the first five 2006-2007 WPSA Snowmobile Tour events.

Hibbert already has two Pro final wins, three top-five and four top-10 finishes this season, giving him the extra track time and confidence needed for a gold medal performance this year’s Winter X Games.

2004: Silver • 2005: Silver 2006: Eliminated in Qualifying

Tucker Hibbert – #68 Monster Energy/Arctic Cat
“I feel really confidant in my snowmobile and my team going into the Winter X Games. Racing the three snocross events before this year’s Winter X Games has given us the
opportunity to get our equipment dialed in. The past three years when I came in without racing any snocross events, we weren’t 100 percent ready and we took some chances. Not this year. After winning two finals last weekend in Brainerd, I’m confident I have the speed to take the gold medal.”

FAST FACTS:
• Birthdate: 6.24.1984; Birthplace: Driggs, Idaho; Hometown: Goodridge, Minn.
• Began riding snowmobiles when he was three and racing when he was nine.
• From 1998-2000, as a Semi-Pro, he won 19 of the 24 finals he started; the most
Semi-Pro wins by a rider in the history of the series.
• Won three World Snowmobile Association points championships in three
professional seasons and is the second-winningest Pro rider in history.
• 70 starts: 27 wins; 49 top-three, 56 top-five and 64 top-10 finishes.
• Retired from snocross in 2003 to focus on a full-time career racing motorcycles.
• Racing the first five 2006-2007 WPSA Snowmobile Tour events.
• Currently lives in Centreville, Mississippi where he rides and trains with Kevin Windham for the AMA Supercross Lites East Coast series.
• Heading up his own supercross team, MotorCity Power Sports/Monster Energy/Yamaha.
