Update on the Toronto FIM protests
The FIM's John Gallagher is expected to rule on the two protests lodged against James Stewart for conduct on the track at the Toronto SX before this weekend's Vancouver SX. Stewart was involved in collisions with Makita Suzuki's Ivan Tedesco and Sobe/Samsung Honda's Travis Preston in Toronto, leaving Tedesco with a broken hand, Stewart himself with an unjured ankle, and Preston with a DNF. According to a source close to the situation, Gallagher, the FIM's point man on the Amp'd Mobile World Supercross GP tour, could announce his decision Friday evening or before Saturday's afternoon's practice sessions. Also, the two protests did not come from the respective teams -- Makita Suzuki and Sobe/Samsung Honda -- but rather by the individual riders themselves, per FIM rules.
