Maestro Suzuki’s Sorby Injures Wrist, Out 3-4 Weeks
HOUSTON (May 31, 2006) - Maestro Suzuki’s Eric Sorby sustained an
injury to his left wrist at last weekend’s Toyota AMA Motocross
Championship event at Mt. Morris, Pa., and is expected to be out of
competition for three to four weeks.
Sorby, a native Frenchman who resides in Murrieta, Calif., since coming
to the U.S. in 2002, inured his left wrist during Sunday practice. The
injury kept him out of competition on Sunday, and after a visit with
his doctor on Monday in California, it was determined that he suffered
a sprain and a torn ligament in his wrist. Surgery is not required and
he is eyeing a possible return at the Monster Energy/Kawasaki RedBud
National in Buchanan, Mich., on July 2.
“I had injured the same wrist before and I think I just re aggravated
an old injury,” said Sorby. “I did not crash; I just slammed my wrist
on the bars after coming up short on an uphill jump. I have it in a
brace now and hope to come back sooner than later … maybe Budds Creek,
but for sure RedBud”
