Twitch Finds Gold At Winter X Games
No Handed Backflip to Side Saddle Landing Wins Moto X Best Trick
January 30, 2006 (Newport Beach, CA) Hot on the heels of winning gold at Summer X Games, Jeremy “Twitch” Stenberg takes top spot on the podium one more time in Aspen last night at the 10th Annual Winter X Games.
Despite the unfavorable conditions an unexpected snowstorm created, Jeremy had the crowd and the judges going crazy with a no handed back flip side saddle lander over the 90 foot ice gap that was as smooth as butter.
“Holding his arms over his head, way high and way long, as well as sticking a landing that appeared effortless was the key to the victory for Jeremy” said Rich Swisher of Sports Syndicate, Jeremy’s manager. “The other guys threw down some great tricks too, no doubt, but Jeremy’s just looked a little smoother, and a little more committed, and the judges totally picked up on it.”
Once known for being the bad boy of FMX, Twitch has traded the wild life in for winning medals, and being a family man. When asked what he planned to do next, Twitch responded quickly, “Win everything!”
It’s no secret that Twitch had planned to unveil his no handed back flip held all the way around to no handed landing at Winter X last night, but decided to put it back in the vault for less dangerous terrain. There’s no doubt when that trick makes its debut, the gauntlet will be thrown down, and thrown down hard.
With Jeremy’s transformation paying dividends in gold, FMX is about to hit a whole new level.
