BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series Heads to the Rockies
After two rounds, replacement rider Josh Woods on the Team Fun
Center Suzuki takes control of the Championship Point Standings with 4
wins out of 8 starts!
Fort Worth, TX November 15, 2005 - Advanstar - a leading provider of
print, event and online media for the powersports, off-road and
automotive aftermarket industries – takes the BooKoo Arenacross
Championship Series to the Denver Coliseum in Denver, Colorado this
weekend, November 18-20, 2005.
Prior to the opening round of the BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series
in Fort Worth, Josh Woods from Flint, Michigan got a call from Team Fun
Center Suzuki manager Buddy Antunez to sit in for injured Brad Hagseth
for a couple events. No one, including Josh Woods expected to be
sitting on top of the Championship Point Standings going into Denver.
“This is a great series and I am having fun,” explained Woods. “I will
be in Denver and I am talking with Suzuki and Buddy about staying with
the series, we just have a few more details to iron out.”
Pro/Expert riders race Friday and Saturday nights competing in both
250cc and 450cc classes for the Championship. More than $3.5 million
dollars in purse, point fund and contingency is up for grabs throughout
the 12-city tour. Factory support teams and top privateers from across
the country are headed to the Rockies for what everyone expects to be
one of the toughest battles yet.
Riding the BooKoo Energy, Al Lambs Dallas Honda, Tiger Lacy from
Wolfcreek, Oregon sits 2nd in the Championship Point Standings, with
120 points, 15 behind Woods. “I am going to do my best to stay
consistent throughout the series,” said Lacy. “Everyone is going to
have their share of problems; the championship will go to the rider
that can over-come situations out of their control.”
Considered the man to beat, Josh Demuth from Euless, TX riding the
Babbitt's-Enxus Kawasaki got his first win last weekend in St. Charles,
MO after switching from the 250KX to the new KX450F and currently sits
3rd in the standings with 118 points. “The new KX450F was a blessing,”
said Demuth. “Now I get good starts and my speed is faster through the
whoops. I know what it takes to win this series and we are on the right
track.”
“All I needed was a start to run with these guys,” committed Jeff
Willow from Glendale, CA on the GPS Racing-Storm Lake Honda finishing
2nd Saturday night in the 250cc main event. “I have a great team and
each week my confidence level goes up.”
BooKoo Arenacross Championship Series held at the Denver Coliseum will
be held in conjunction with the Cycle World International Motorcycle
Show which will be held Colorado Convention Center all three days.
