The 2003 AMA 125 Pro Motocross Championship was supposed to go down to the final round at Kenworthy’s MX Park in Troy, Ohio. Originally scheduled for mid-July, the AMA had to postpone the race when the Little Miami River flooded over its banks, rescheduling it for the second Sunday in September (one week after what was supposed to be the final round at Steel City in Pennsylvania). It was at that race that 17-year-old James “Bubbalicious” Stewart won his seventh straight race aboard his Chevy Trucks Kawasaki KX125. Yet Stewart wasn’t the points leader after Steel City. Rather, he was 30 points down—James had missed the first four rounds with a broken collarbone.
