When multi-time MXGP World Champion Jorge Prado decided to spend much of his off-season on a “supercross vacation,” many wondered about the wisdom of jumping into SX for the very first time when the Spaniard should have been focused on training and testing in Europe. But Prado had a plan.
The 23-year-year-old Jorge Prado has long toyed with the idea of moving to America, where supercross is mandatory. It’s also a discipline best learned early in one’s career, not in the middle. He wanted to see how he might fare in Monster Energy Supercross, and also put out some feelers with the teams for a possible full-time gig here in the states. (His current GasGas contract conveniently ends this coming fall.) So, Prado set himself up in California for the month of January with plans to race at least the first three rounds of the series. How did it go? Here are 10 things about Jorge Prado’s supercross vacation.
