Racer X Podcast: Houston The Weege, Ping and Matthes grab the bull by the horns and talk everything Houston
Racer X Redux: Houston There are two kinds of classic supercross races. In one, you get a back and forth battle at the front of the pack with the best riders in the game. This year, we got that race in Los Angeles. The other is the wild one, with commotion all over the track, contenders spread out everywhere, unpredictability’s around every corner, and a surprise winner.
the Lap Times: Houston Round six of Monster Energy Supercross from Houston provided just about everything you can ask from a fan's perspective. Justin Barcia and Dean Wilson slugged it out in the Lites class, while Trey Canard capitalized on a Kevin Windham mistake to hold off a furious charge from Ryan Dungey. Throw in a James Stewart crash, and a couple of huge first turn pile-ups, and you have a recipe for some great racing. Now onto the lap charts, brought to you by Motion Pro.
450 Words: Houston Besides being very happy for Trey and his entire family once the 41 took the checkers, I started to think about the man who is now working with Canard closely and his failure to ever win a supercross. That’s right folks, more Tim Ferry talk from Matthes. But hold on here, hear me out.
Conversation With... Trey Canard I’m just in shock right now. Man, I feel like I didn’t even ride as well as I did in the last three races, but I was coming from the back in those. I really needed that, to get up front and ride up front.

Racerhead #6 Just when it seems like things are starting to settle down a little in the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, something new, interesting, or just plain destructive happens out there. This week, we have all three!
5 Minutes With... Dean Wilson Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Dean Wilson was absolutely flying in the off-season. And everyone knew it. Including Dean. Just after hearing from Mitch Payton that he was slated to take on the Lites West championship, though, Dean went down and separated his shoulder. The immediate concern was how bad it was, so he could figure out if he could get healthy in time for the Lites East, and we talked to Wilson to find out how he’s coming along, since the Lites East starts up this Saturday night in Houston, Texas.
To Watch For at Houston This weekend the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross tour heads east into Texas for the sixth round of AMA Supercross and the opening round of the East Region Lites class. The 450 race will air on CBS on Sunday at 12:00 (ET), with the Lites airing on SPEED TV at 4:00 (ET), and you can count on the Racer X Online team to lead the way in live updates, Twitter reports, and videos. Here are 10 things to watch for in Houston.
Ask Ping! The big question that every rider hopes he never has to answer: Do I jump off or ride it out?
The List: Ten Best Imports Last week we gave you our Top Ten AMA rookies of all-time. This time, The List counts down the ten best foreign imports to the AMA Supercross/Motocross circuit.
One Industries Thursday Rev Up: Nemesis That’s right, we’re taking the madness down to Houston, Texas, switching things up a bit to see what the boys on the East Coast are going to bring to the ring. Supercross is supercross, but the vibe is always a little different on the East Coast. They riders are generally more aggressive (dirty) and, well, it’s just different.
Bench Racing Ammo: Houston History Houston may not be considered the heart of supercross like Anaheim, but its roots actually go back deeper than any stadium-style event on the tour (only Daytona, which races in a super speedway, has been on the schedule longer).
Profile: Gared Steinke Oh, I was pumped. Me and my mechanic were going crazy back at the pits after we found out I made it. It was the coolest feeling.
This Week in Kawasaki SX History: Houston 2002 Nearly ten years ago, Matt Walker shocked the establishment with a win in the Astrodome.
Going for the W: Justin Brayton Honestly, for me, when these guys were winning championships, I was in high school dreaming of racing Arenacross. Not even supercross!”
the Motos: Matt Boni After a tough 2010 season, Matt Boni nearly found himself out of racing altogether.
Racer X Redux: A2 Weigandt asks the question: Did James Stewart's A2 domination signal trouble for the rest of the field?
Observations: Anaheim 2 And we’re back at the Big A in Anaheim, California for round five of the Monster Energy Supercross Series! In the past we’ve gone to Anaheim three times in a year and with one of the rounds going to Dodger Stadium, we’ve shrunk Anaheim to two and it’s a good thing it appears as the stadium was SRO- Sold Right Out.
