- Between The Motos: Kevin CrowtherJanuary 12, 2011The goal of Feld, FIM, and AMA is working together to see what we can do to grow the sport.
- 5 Minutes With... Ryan DungeyJanuary 11, 2011"To wear the number-one plate is an honor, and something you work so hard for. But at the end of the day, it’s just a number on your bike."
- 5 Minutes With... Jeff GibsonJanuary 11, 2011As a long time journeyman racer, Ohio’s Jeff Gibson is well known for his passion for racing, fan interaction, and Christian faith.
- Monday Conversation with...Ryan VillopotoJanuary 10, 2011"That was the first time I had lined up on the gate since St. Louis, and the last time I raced, I ended up in the hospital for three weeks."
- 5 Minutes With… Grant and MillsapsJanuary 8, 2011Josh Grant and Davi Millsaps have essentially traded teams, with one moving from a Honda to a Yamaha, and the other doing the opposite. Grant came through Honda’s amateur program before landing a pro deal on the Factory Connection Honda squad (known today as GEICO Powersports Honda). But when it came time to find a 450 ride for 2009, he went with Joe Gibbs Racing and Yamaha. After two seasons with that team--a great one in 2009 and a bad one in 2010—Grant is back on Honda, this time with the full factory squad, American Honda Racing.
- 5 Minutes With… Ken RoczenJanuary 8, 2011Hard to believe that there’s been a buzz building for over a year around German Ken Roczen, since he’s still only 16-years-old. But the kid has been winning GPs since he was 15, and just waiting for the AMA pro age minimum to either drop back down to 16 so he could race supercross. The age limit has dropped, and Roczen is here—ready to race in the stadiums before heading back home for the GPs in the spring.
- 5 Minutes With... Brett MetcalfeJanuary 7, 2011I’m carrying the confidence, and the belief in myself. I feel like I won a race at Southwick.
- 5 Minutes With... Martin DavalosJanuary 7, 2011As you may have noticed on the pre-entry list for this weekend, there’s a lot of foreign talent in the Lites class, including riders from Germany, South Africa, Canada, Japan, and Brazil. The South American nation of Ecuador will be represented by 23-year-old Martin Davalos, who will coincidentally be piloting the #23 RM-Z250 for the Rockstar Energy Drink Suzuki Lites team. We gave Martin a call today for this quick update.
- Between the Motos... Eddie BabbittJanuary 6, 2011Without a doubt we’re all excited about the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series, but let’s not forget that there is another series starting January 8th – AMA Arenacross. While Arenacross may be a bit overshadowed by supercross right now, it remains one of the most exciting forms of dirt bike racing around. This is especially true for Eddie Babbitt, whose Team Babbitt’s Monster Energy, TiLube, Kawasaki, presented by Maxxis squad of Josh Demuth, Chad Johnson, and Tyler Bowers set a new record when they went on to take first, second, and third in the 2010 championship. With that said, who better than to check in on regarding the forthcoming Arenacross series than Eddie Babbitt? His team and Muskegon, Michigan dealership both have exciting things happening.
- 5 Minutes With... Mike FisherJanuary 6, 2011Wednesday afternoon around 5:00 p.m., Mike Fisher and a group of mechanics stand outside the Kawasaki race shop in Irvine, California, and listen in on the #2 bike Ryan Villopoto will ride Saturday night in the opening round of the 2011 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series. A mechanic deftly revs the engine and all sounds well.
- 5 Minutes With... Andrew ShortJanuary 5, 2011One rider who is coming into the 2011 Monster Energy Supercross season with some question marks is long-time Honda rider Andrew Short. But wait, he’s not on a Honda anymore! Shorty switched over to a new color and some new CC’s at that. Riding for Red Bull KTM on the still-new and developing KTM 350SXF, Andrew isn’t picked by many to be in the front this coming weekend (well except for that one guy on the Pulpmx Show who said he will win) but perhaps he should be. Year in and year out Shorty is a podium threat no matter what class or discipline he rides. He’s a consummate professional who puts in the work and with Anaheim coming up he talks about his chances, his bike and his multi-national team.
- Monday Conversation: Jake WeimerJanuary 3, 2011Jake Weimer has been a steadily rising star for over five years, since he won a tryout to become a part of the Factory Connection Honda team to start his career.
