How many got it right?
You guys, and gals, are really getting the hang of this. And overall it was a pretty solid week for everyone. (Except for that whole Cole Seely thing! About that…) The only question really left is: WHAT IS WRONG WITH 3 PERCENT OF YOU? HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE DUNGEY ON THE PODIUM? Honestly, if you’re trying “drastic” things to pick up points, this is not the way to go about it. Seriously, stop right now.

Top Picks/Sleepers
450SX
Ben LaMay | Last week: 14th
Since his return at Daytona, LaMay has been a main event regular—three straight. With more time on the Husqvarna, top-fifteen is not a stretch.
Josh Grant | Last week: 6th
Since moving east, Grant has five top-tens in six rounds. I like him there. If you want max points, eighth is a safe pick.
Jason Anderson | Last week: 21st
Anderson got pretty banged up last week, but will race. Keep an eye out on practice before making a pick.
Nick Schmidt | Last week: 18th
Schmidt has made three consecutive mains (missed Indy due to injury), and with the field thinning there is no reason to think it won’t continue.
Kyle Partridge | Last week: 13th
Has had a very under-the-radar season. Is becoming a steady top-fifteen regular, too.
Justin Brayton | Last week: 10th
Was tenth in his return last week. I like him in the 10–15 range until he get’s more seat time.
250SX
Joey Savatgy | Last week: 3rd
Should not be out of your top five, but a podium could get you max points.
Kyle Peters | Last week: 13th
Fell outside the top ten last week for the first time since Daytona. I like him to get back in.
Jimmy Decotis | Last week: 9th
Definitely a top ten regular, and with Lemoine and Friese out, I like close to top five.
Gannon Audette | Last week: 20th
Had a rough go last week, but has been closer to fifteenth. Start there.
Justin Starling | Last week: 12th
Another guy that’s had a great season. Top fifteen is a good starting point.
RJ Hampshire | Last week: 11th
Has really been showing some speed. Start inside top ten and work your way down.
Bonus Picks
Since we didn’t get the fantasy preview out last week (we suck!) there isn’t record of MY 6-for-6 NIGHT IN DETROIT. Too bad. You’ll just have to take my word for it! I’ll stick my neck out there again—proceed at your own risk.
Picks for St. Louis
450SX
Fastest Qualifier: Eli Tomac
Heat Winner: Ryan Dungey
Holeshot: Andrew Short
250SX
Fastest Qualifier: Marvin Musquin
Heat Winner: Justin Bogle
Holeshot: Martin Davalos
Against the Grain
Again: YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PICK UP POINTS PICKING RYAN DUNGEY FIRST–THIRD. Just not going to happen. Don't go all crazy if you pick Dungey to finish second, and you nail it, and still lose ground. Even if you hit it on the nose, chances are half of the competition will as well. You pick up points further down the field. Let’s take a look and who may or may not have made up some ground last week.
450SX
Eighty-eight users had Davi Millsaps fifth or better; he finished fifth.
Average position picked for Josh Grant was twelfth; he finished sixth.
Average position picked for Justin Brayton was thirteenth; he finished tenth.
Average postion picked for Kyle Chisholm was fifteenth; he finished eleventh.
Two-hundred seventy-three users had Alex Ray making the main; he finished nineteenth.
Two-hundred sixty-nine users had Ronnie Stewart making the main; he finished seventeenth.
One-hundred forty-two users had Heath Harrison making the main; he finished twentieth.
250SX
Average position picked for Anthony Rodirguez was twelfth; he finished fifth.
Average position picked for Colt Nichols was fifteenth; he finished sixth.
Two-hundred seventy-four users had Mitchell Oldenburg finishing tenth or better; he finished ninth.
One-hundred ninety-four users had Jace Owen tenth or better; he finished tenth.
Average position picked for RJ Hampshire was seventh; he finished eleventh.
Nineteen users had Justin Starling twelfth or better; he finished twelfth.
Twenty-three users had Adam Gulley making the main; he finished nineteenth.
ADVICE FROM THE SO-CALLED EXPERTS
“My year ended at Daytona.” That’s a direct quote from last week’s “expert” Andrew Fredrickson. (It was actually two weeks ago. We didn’t get our preview out last week. We suck! Either way, the message holds true.) He’s waved the white flag. Not only has he slipped to ninth in the fantasy league—HE DIDN’T EVEN FILL OUT HIS PICKS LAST WEEK. We apologize for such disgracefulness from our “experts.” We’ve brought our fearless leader back this week, Steve “Falkens” Matthes. Although, having him as leader did remind us of something...
Five Things I'm Betting on This Week (Steve "Falkens" Matthes)
Look, I’m the king of Racer X Fantasy. I’ve been leading since the second race of the season and plan to ride this thing out all the way to the end. These guys, they can’t beat me. I’m Drago to their Apollo’s.
Anyways, St. Louis. Yeah, here’s what’s going to happen.
1) Ryan Dungey and Marvin Musquin will win their respective classes. Again. Hey, maybe they won’t, but you know what? They’ll both be close, so if you put’em at one, you’ll get some solid points.
2) If you don’t already know, know that Jimmmmmyyyy DDDDDDDDDDD is back from his early season slump and will rebound from a ninth last week to get sixth once again.
3) I know they’ve been up and down in the last few weeks, but if you don’t Dungey and Tomac (in some order, but as I stated, I’ll be putting Dungey first) then I cannot help you. You need to give up playing fantasy as you’re just not cut out for it.
4) Justin Brayton is coming back from a long absence and will be tenth again. You watch.
5) I think Adam Enticknap makes the main again. Put him in that twenty-two-man main again!
