Adelanto Grand Prix Returns
The world-famous Adelanto Grand Prix is on again!
One of the most popular off-road races in the country for years, in 2015 the new Mavericks Adelanto Grand Prix will kick off the 2015 AMA District 37 Big 6 Grand Prix Series, marking a return to racing through the streets of this high-desert community about two hours northeast of Los Angeles.
After several years of declining participation and a move out of city limits, the kickoff event for the eight-round Big 6 GP series brings this spectacular, family-friendly race back to the heart of Adelanto where the Mavericks baseball team plays: Heritage Field at Stater Brothers Stadium with all of its inherent amenities like paved parking, stadium seating and concessions a short walk away.
The race has the city’s blessing, so expect to see part of the course actually venture onto the baseball field itself (though it would be protected by plastic sheeting, plywood, and tons of dirt, of course)! Family, friends and fans will be able to take in the action in comfort yet still be able to step outside of the stadium to pit their rider.
Plans include a variety of obstacles as well as the fast, fun course that Big 6 GPs are famous for. Besides the stadium, racers can expect to ride plenty of open desert, some pavement and maybe even the good ol’ Adelanto mud hole jump!
On Saturday night, So Cal Motorcycle Club officials (the club responsible for putting on this race) are working to show the season-opening Anaheim 1 Supercross on the big screen. Camping will be available, and vendors will be on hand as well.
Pre-registration opens at the beginning of November. AMA membership is required, and both AMA and D-37 cards will be available on-site for those who like to wait until the last minute.
