Broc Schmelyun Injured, Out for Supercross
Traders Racing Press Release
Riverside, CA- Traders Racing Premier rider Broc Schmelyun suffered an unfortunate injury while practicing at Milestone MX in California on their supercross track.
The Traders Racing rider suffered two broken legs in a hard crash that sent him off his KX450 and feet first into the face of a jump. After consulting his doctor, Broc will fly back to his home state of Pennsylvania to undergo surgery. This surgery will prevent him from competing in the 450 Class of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross series as intended.
“This is a very unfortunate injury at a time where Broc has really worked hard and prepared himself for the supercross season in the premier class," said Gary Luckett, Traders Racing team owner. "We were very pleased with his progress to this point, especially while practicing daily with some of the industry’s top professionals in southern California. We looked forward to taking the momentum from his outdoor success last year where he enjoyed several top 20 finishes while earning his national number #98 and receiving the RC Hard Charger award into the Supercross season. When he returns from this injury we look forward to continued success.”
Broc would like to thanks his sponsors, supporters and family who made his journey up to the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross season and the 2013 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series possible. Broc’s intentions are to come back faster and stronger than before.
