Kevin Windham to Attend Loretta's
HURRICANE MILLS, Tenn - Wildly popular motocross superstar Kevin Windham highlights an impressive lineup of celebrities visiting the AMSOIL display at this year's Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL at Loretta Lynn's Ranch.
Windham, who retired earlier this year after more than 18 years of competition at the highest level of the sport, has been a crowd favorite for years. His multiple championships on a 125cc machine and 19 additional victories in 250cc and 450cc competition place him among the all-time greats, but his true measure as the "People's Champion" transcends the sport entirely, which could explain the huge crowds that show up wherever he appears.
"Kevin always has been a wonderful representative for our company and remains a true ambassador for the entire motorcycle industry," said Jeremy Meyer, race program manager for AMSOIL. "We're honored that he's stopping by our display next week, and I know fans will enjoy visiting with him."Windham is scheduled for a meet-and-greet with fans from 4-4:30 p.m., Thursday, and again from 10-10:30 a.m. and 2-2:30 p.m., Friday."I can't wait to see everyone," Windham said. "I love the Lorettas. It's always cool to see the young kids getting started. I appreciate the incredible talent they have at such a young age. These kids nowadays are all way ahead of where I was when I was a boy. I might be getting a few autographs myself."
Additionally, Miss AMSOIL Arenacross Lindsey Scheltema and professional riders Zach Osborne and Zach Bell from the AMSOIL-sponsored GEICO Honda team will be making appearances, as well as AMSOIL amateurs Matt Bisceglia and Jordon Smith, who are competing at the event.
Miss AMSOIL Arenacross will appear from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m., Monday, and 10-11 a.m., Tuesday. Osborne is dropping by between1-2 p.m., Tuesday, while Bell's visit is scheduled for 10-11 a.m., Wednesday. Bisceglia and Smith will appear at the booth when their racing schedules permit.
"We have such a great group of riders under the AMSOIL umbrella," Meyer said. "We encourage everyone to stop by for a visit."The 2013 Red Bull AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL will take place July 28-Aug. 3 at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills.
